One Emotion that Keeps You Away from Wealth
We often learn about techniques to acquire wealth or the steps to becoming wealthy. Today, I am going to tell you about one thing that we should stop doing while walking on the path toward wealth. That one thing is ‘jealousy.’
If we want to become wealthy, then we should learn to let go of this emotion called jealousy. Why? Because becoming wealthy makes us feel positive, whereas jealousy is a negative emotion. If we want to reach a positive destination, carrying negative emotions will only make the journey more difficult.
Thoughts filled with jealousy, such as, “I am more educated than him, so how is he wealthier than me?” or “I started earning before him, so how is he wealthier than me?” or “I attended college regularly, while she always bunked classes. Why is she wealthier than me?” will take you backward on the path toward wealth.
So, what thoughts can replace these jealousy-filled thoughts? The thoughts of exploration.Let me explain.
Instead of thinking, “How is this person wealthier than me?” we can think, “Let me find out why he is wealthier than me. Let me figure out what that one thing is that he is doing right. If I am already doing that, then let me find out the way he is doing it.” The feeling of “Let me find out how he does it” is the thought of exploration.
To receive answers, you can spend time with that person, attend the seminars they conduct, or simply ask them questions.
There is a common pattern that I have observed among wealthy people. If they see genuine effort from you, they often want you to become wealthy as well. So, if you genuinely ask them questions about their achievements, I can guarantee that they will not hesitate to answer you. Asking questions and discovering how someone achieved a particular feat is the mode of exploration.
If Person A has a car and Person B wants to buy the same car, Person B cannot buy it by scratching Person A’s car. Instead, Person B can find out how Person A bought it. This exploration of “How did he do it? Let me find out” will increase the possibility of buying that car.
Exploration will take you toward wealth, while jealousy will take you away from it.
