The Prayer is Always Answered!

Let’s imagine that you have gone on a holiday to some nice place with your family and kids!

You are staying at a beautiful grand hotel. Let’s say you have a room on the 15th floor of this beautiful hotel. The next morning, your child asks if he could go down to play on the ground floor. You agree to it; he goes down and starts playing. Now, you want to see how much your child is enjoying playing on the ground. You go to the balcony and look down from the 15th floor. Seeing the kid having fun, you start enjoying the whole scene with a smile on your face. After a while, you see that the ball your child is playing with other children has gone over the hotel’s compound. But there is a valley right next to the compound. You can see it from your top view. Since the wall’s height is three times the kids’ height, they cannot see this valley from the ground. Knowing all this, will you not stop your child from climbing over the wall if he tries to climb it to get the ball? Will you not call out to him before he starts climbing and refrain from going over?

Do you think that after looking at the scene from the 15th floor where there is a compound and on the one side of the compound there are children who are playing, and on the other side there is a valley, even if the child yelled and begged from the ground floor to jump over the compound, will our response ever be saying yes to the child’s request of jumping over the compound? Never!

So let me tell you that it never happens that your prayer is never answered; you may pray to whichever god or ultimate power you believe in. We think that prayer is answered only when the answer is yes. But it is not easily acceptable for us to believe that the answer to the prayer could be a no also. The ultimate power can see our whole life and knows what is best for us, just the way we know that there is a valley on the other side of the compound, and we refuse to let our child jump over the compound because of what we can see from the 15th floor. The child does not see what we see because the compound wall is three times his height; similarly, when we are stuck in a situation, and we pray to the ultimate intelligence, and if the ultimate intelligence can see that what you have prayed for yourself is not beneficial for you, then we may get ‘no’ as an answer to our prayer. But this does not mean that the prayer is not answered!
