First Step towards Meditation
Have you ever observed your mood during the times of festivals or celebrations? We feel genuine happiness in those times because our mental health is directly affected by our environment. So we are happy when we celebrate.
The phenomenon of changed mood according to the environment is also observed when we visit religious places. Religious chants, ringing of bells, camphor fumes and incense, purify the surrounding of a religious site. A person’s surroundings affect all three bodies of the person – soul body, physical body, and energy body (aura). Our soul body and our energy body are charged and cleansed at religious places. We receive tremendous benefits.
You must have heard that some places are especially famous for fulfilling the devotee’s wishes. The devotees’ faith amplifies the energies of the site. Every prayer is multiplied, and hence the answers are miraculous.
The energies of the religious places help us to start our meditation journey. If you own a piece of land, you consume the food that you grow on that land. Otherwise, you buy food grown by others in the grocery stores. Visiting a religious place is like consuming food from grocery stores. It is not a replacement for meditation, but the practice helps you achieve partial meditation effects.
The experience of meditation is far superior to the experience of the atmosphere of a religious place. Until you can meditate, the practice of visiting a religious place will help you to seek energy, cleanse your bodies and get a little experience of meditation.
