How can you express your love for your family?
In what ways can we express that we love our family? For example, on every family member’s birthday, we can wish them at midnight by bringing them a cake. Or, we can take our family to new destinations for the holidays. Or, we can take the responsibility of paying EMIs of house loans or car loans that our family members have been taking care of till now. In addition to these ways, there is another way in which you can express your love for your family. It is by taking care of your health.
Think about it carefully. When we don’t take care of our health, we become a little careless regarding it, and we fall sick, then that sickness doesn’t remain limited to ourselves. If we have a fever, then the family members may also get sick as the fever might be contagious. Even though they have taken care of their health, just because we were careless about our health, they may fall sick because the fever, the cold, or the cough we got were contagious. Even though they have taken care of their health, they need to ask their boss for a leave which they may have kept reserved for a special occasion. For example, they might have reserved that leave so they could go on a holiday with their friends, but because a family member was careless about their health, they needed to take that reserved leave, and to go on the holiday, they now need to take unpaid leave. Taking care of our health is not just limited to ourselves. It affects our family. If we are sick, whoever cooks in the house has to cook a separate meal for us in addition to the meal that they need to prepare for everyone else. And we become responsible for adding to their work instead of lessening it.
I want to give a new perspective to you, which is that you can express your love for your family by taking care of your health, too. When you go to a restaurant or a canteen, decide beforehand what you will eat. Every time you eat something, ask yourself whatever I am eating right now, is that expressing my love towards my family? You will realise instantly whether or not you should eat it. Whenever you plan for the day, make a point to check whether your schedule reflects your love for your family or not. Make sure that you have planned to exercise for at least half an hour- whether it is walking up and down the stairs, jumping rope, or something else.
Taking care of your health is not limited to you; it impacts your whole family. You can express your love for your family by taking care of your health, too!
