Cocoa Technique: A Quick-fix Remedy

Today, I am bringing to you a simple but extremely effective remedy for stress, anxiety, anger, or for that matter, any negative emotion that you may be experiencing. For example, if you are traveling alone and that too on an airplane for the first time, and you are afraid of take-off and landing. Or you have a performance coming up and you have realized that it needs to be your best performance. This  performance may not always be a stage performance, it could be giving an interview or confessing your mistake to your near ones. Or maybe you really want to perform in front of a group and you want or someone else wants it to be your greatest performance. Maybe there has been a difficult incident in your family, and everyone is shattered including you but you need to stay strong for others’ sake. What if you had a remedy with you to face all these emotions, a remedy that will give you instant results? Even though temporary, it will enable you to come out of the situation partially and give you enough strength to see yourself through it. The remedy I have described so far is called the Cocoa technique.

What does the Cocoa technique mean? Cocoa is a primary element in chocolates or dark chocolates. If you find yourselves in situations similar to any of the situations explained above, where you are angry but can’t afford to be angry, where you are in stress but can’t afford to be under stress, and you need to be less stressed because only then you can move forward. Or, you are actually anxious about your first plane travel or your stage performance! Then always keep a few chocolate pieces with cocoa with you. If you want to bring your stress, anxiety, or any negative emotion under control in that moment, take a couple of chocolate pieces and place them on your tongue. Don’t eat them quickly, suck them slowly. When the chocolate melts gradually, cocoa mixes with your blood very slowly, and you will notice that your anxiety, stress, or the pressure to perform that you were under, has reduced by 50%. You are at ease now and able to think about the next action.

Why does this happen? This happens because cocoa has one important characteristic. It increases the elasticity or flexibility of the blood vessels that carry blood to the heart and from the heart to your other body parts. In turn, this increases the speed of the blood flow to your brain and helps you to control your emotions or enter a calmer frame of mind by receiving the right instructions from the brain.

Even at those times when you try to remember something very hard but do not recall it if you quickly put a few pieces of chocolate or dark chocolate in your mouth, you will realize that you can remember it quickly. Let me also remind you, that if you have been prohibited to eat chocolate for health reasons by the doctor, then you should adopt this technique only after consulting the concerned advisor.
