Pre-requisite of Being Wealthy

Framing what ‘wealthy’ specifically means to you is the first 50% of becoming wealthy. The rest is just a daily check to see if your decisions align with that frame.

To become truly wealthy, we must first frame the definition of wealth for ourselves. This doesn’t mean a decorative frame on a wall, but writing down clearly, with pen and paper, our personal definition of wealth. Many people do not associate wealth with just money, gold, or a luxurious house. For some, it's growing old surrounded by their children. For others, it’s traveling to a new country each year. Everyone’s idea of wealth is different. And if we don’t realize our own idea of wealth, we may end up chasing someone else’s version of success for a lifetime. So the first step is clarity: What does being wealthy mean to me? What has to happen for me to say, “Yes, now I am wealthy”?

Once you frame this, you gain the required direction. Each step can then be taken consciously and intentionally. Life gives us two choices every day. When you know your definition, it becomes easier to say no to what doesn’t fit and yes to what does. That clarity guides your path. As the saying goes: if you don't know where you are going, then every road goes there! Without a personal definition, everything might feel like progress, but you may not really be moving toward what you want.

For example, if wealth for you means giving your children the best education, degrees, post-graduation, even doctorates, then your daily actions must support that. How much time are you investing in their studies? Are you monitoring their progress, providing the right environment? If a friend invites you to a wedding that clashes with your child's exams, your decision becomes simple. If your wealth is defined by your child's academic growth, you prioritize that over social events.

In short, first frame your personal definition of wealth, and then let every daily choice reflect that definition.
